TRIP OF A LIFETIME

Many 121'ers will be boarding planes soon on their way to orphanages -- some headed to Russia and some headed to Guatemala.  You can be a critical part of their outreaches by praying for God's agenda to be accomplished in each young person who will be touched and each trip participant who will probably be touched even more!

New YearPenza, Russia: December 27 - January 7

Six people from 121 CC will join up with dozens of believers from other churches to go to Penza, Russia with Spoken For International Youth Outreach.  Because Christmas is celebrated on January 7th in Russia, they will get there just in time to bring the Christmas message of love to the youth living in orphanages around the region.  The trip will involve visits to six orphanages. The team will host Christmas parties at each location. At the parties, there will be a Winter Carnival, sharing of the Christmas story, and giving gifts to the children and workers. On New Year’s Eve, the team will throw a New Year’s party with the youth who live at Nizhny Lamov, an orphanage for boys and girls with special needs. The night will culminate in a huge fireworks show. In addition to the orphanage parties, the team will attend church with one of the local churches and fellowship with local believers -- a great preview of every nation, tribe, people and language one day praising the Lord together.

Antigua, Guatemala: January 20 - 27

GuatemalaIn partnership with Buckner Orphan Care International, a team of ten from 121 will participate in the annual winter outreach to the girls who live in the Manchen home in Antigua.  The girls, ages 11 - 17, who live at Manchen are there mainly because they have been physically abused or were rescued from illegal sex trade operations.  The main purpose of the trip is to hold a Bible school and minister to the girls through teaching life skills, crafts, etc.  The girls have a deep need to feel the consistent love of God as demonstrated by people committed to visiting them.  Through interpreters, team members will show their care and concern for each girl by listening to them, sharing with them, and generally just spending time with them.  God has opened many doors with the girls through past teams and it will be exciting to see what He does with this year's trip.
